Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
FinanceX ("we", "us") provides free financial tools for India. This policy explains what we collect, what we deliberately don't, and the choices you have. It's written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details — if you create an account, your email and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Analyses you choose to save — when you tap "Save to my dashboard", we store the derived figures from your Form 16 (income, tax, deductions, score). We do this only with your explicit action.
- Transactions you import — if you import a bank-statement CSV, we store the resulting categorised transactions (your own data) to build your budget.
- Anonymous usage events — which tools are used, to improve the product. These carry no personal or financial detail.
What we never store
- Your raw Form 16 PDF — it's read in memory to extract figures and then discarded.
- Your raw bank-statement file — parsed in memory; only the derived transactions are kept.
- Your PAN.
- For SplitQR, nothing at all — the QR reading and code generation happen entirely in your browser and never reach our servers.
Third parties
- OpenAI — when you upload a Form 16, the extracted text is sent to OpenAI to read the figures. It is not used to train their models via our API usage.
- IFSC lookup — the IFSC Finder queries a public IFSC dataset with the code you enter.
Cookies
We use a single signed session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time. To delete your account and all saved analyses and transactions, contact us and we'll action it promptly.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with scrypt. We keep personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
